Cynthia Nixon Trolled Andrew Cuomo After He Lost His Emmy Amid Sexual Harassment Scandal

In 2018, Cynthia Nixon ran for Governor of New York against Andrew Cuomo and roasted him pretty regularly. She ended up losing to Andrew Cuomo, but well, now he’s out of a job after he was forced to resign over sexual harassment allegations by many women (not to mention the pandemic era scandals of his aides hiding nursing home deaths to make him look good). Andrew Cuomo not only lost his job as governor but even worse, he lost his Emmy! But guess who got the last laugh? Cynthia!–who roasted Andrew on Twitter. Aww, poor guy, maybe Alec Baldwin will feel so sorry for him, he’ll give Andrew one of his Emmys?

The former Mr. Sandra Lee had to resign as Governor of New York (after VERY MUCH resisting it) when a sexual harassment investigation done by New York Attorney General Letitia James’ office found that he in fact did sexually harass multiple women. Andrew’s resignation led the way for the state’s first female Governor, Kathy Hochul.

In November 2020, the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences gave Andrew Cuomo the International Emmy Founders Award for his daily coronavirus briefings. And yesterday, they announced that Andrew Cuomo is no longer Emmy recipient Andrew Cuomo. via NBC News:

The International Academy announced today that in light of the New York Attorney General’s report, and Andrew Cuomo’s subsequent resignation as Governor, it is rescinding his special 2020 International Emmy Award,” the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences said in a statement Tuesday.

His name and any reference to his receiving the award will be eliminated from International Academy materials going forward,” it said.

Cynthia probably laughed and laughed and then looked over at her own two Emmys. Cynthia won the Emmy for Best Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 2004 for playing Miranda Hobbes on Sex and the City, and she won the Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series in 2008 for her guest appearance on Law & Order: SVU. She may be busy filming the SATC revival, And Just Like That…, but she wasn’t too busy to post a game of Spot The Difference on Twitter:

And Just Like That… Cynthia brought her pettiness to the table.

Woe is Andrew Cuomo. Kicked by a former rival while down and without an Emmy! I’m sure that Andrew’s brother Chris Cuomo will comfort Andrew by handing over his Emmy and saying, “Here you can hold on to mine and pretend it yours.” To which, snobby Andrew will probably say, “But Chris it’s a Daytime Emmy and not an INTERNATIONAL one.
