Drake Bell Has Pleaded Guilty To Child Endangerment

Earlier this month, the number of famous music industry Drakes that underage girls should be warned about doubled when news broke that Drake Bell had been arrested in Ohio for allegedly endangering a child and disseminating matter harmful to juveniles. It sounds like we can stop using the word “allegedly,” because Drake just pleaded guilty to the charges against him.
It’s not known when the former Drake & Josh star was arrested, only that he appeared in an Ohio court earlier this month, where he initially pleaded not guilty to one charge of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles (which could be something like sending a dick pic) and one charge of attempted endangering children (like coercing an underage kid to do something that’s not right). At the time, FOX 8 Cleveland claimed sources told them that Drake would likely plead guilty or no contest at his pretrial hearing today. He did exactly that. Deadline says that Drake appeared via Zoom for his pretrial hearing, using his legal name Jared Bell, and he pleaded guilty to a fourth-degree felony charge of attempting to endanger children and a first-degree misdemeanor charge of disseminating material harmful to juveniles.
This situation stems from a December 1st, 2017 event after Drake played The Odeon Concert Club in Cleveland. At the time, Drake was 31 and his victim was reportedly 15. According to the investigation, Drake and the victim had established a relationship for several years prior to the incident.
Drake will be sentenced on July 12th. His victim will be allowed to provide a victim impact statement at that time, should they so choose. Because he has pleaded guilty to both charges, he could receive a prison sentence of up to 18 months for the felony charge and up to six months for the misdemeanor. He’s also looking at potential fines of up to $5000 and $1000, respectively. Additionally, he could be hit with three years of post-release supervision. Here’s Drake’s Zoom call that took place today. Drake turned into a Spanish-language singer named Drake Campana last year, but by the looks of that suit and hair, it feels like the next task his lawyer is will be working on is a cease-and-desist from Conan O’Brien.
I didn’t think I’d spend nearly four minutes of my day watching an adult Drake from Drake & Josh plead guilty to doing something illegal with a 15-year-old girl. What is the opposite of the meme of Megan from Drake & Josh sipping a soda at her computer while she says “Interesting“? Because this whole situation makes me want to grab something much stronger than a soda, and unplug my computer for however long it takes my brain and gag reflex to recover from how gross this is.
