DC Doesn’t Want You To See Batman Going Down On Catwoman

It seems the prudes out there managed to get another thing canceled: Batman eating a pussy’s pussy. In an interview with Variety, Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker, who are the co-creators and executive producers of HBO Max’s animated Harley Quinn series, said that a scene where Batman goes down on Catwoman ended up on the cutting room floor. Because DC wouldn’t allow it and their reasoning was that: “Heroes don’t do that.” When did DJ Khaled start working at DC Comics?

Harley Quinn is an adult cartoon that’s focused mainly on Harley Quinn (voiced by Kaley Cuoco) and other DC villains being villainous in Gotham City. There’s also a lesbian storyline between Harley and Poison Ivy (voiced by Lake Bell). The show had its second season last year and a third is due out sometime later this year. In the upcoming third season, there was a scene planned where the Caped Crusader (voiced by Diedrich Bader) was patrolling the inside of the cooch of Catwoman (voiced by Sanaa Lathan). But the people at DC Comics were like excuse me, no. via TVLine:

“We had a moment where Batman was going down on Catwoman. And DC was like, “You can’t do that. You absolutely cannot do that.” They’re like, “Heroes don’t do that,”” Halpern told Variety.

Are you telling me this man gets dressed up as a bat and fights crime to deal with his childhood trauma, and then prances around as a playboy billionaire during the day but then he draws the line at eating pussy? But no, this isn’t actually because there’s some puritanical nun working at DC Comics. It’s purely for monetary reasons:

“So we said, “Are you saying heroes are just selfish lovers?” They were like, “No, it’s that we sell consumer toys for heroes. It’s hard to sell a toy if Batman is also going down on someone.”

I’m gonna go ahead and say it is actually easier to sell a toy if it included Batman going down on Catwoman. I would buy it. But Patrick and Justin do mention how DC has allowed them to push the limits before:

Indeed, Schumacker and Halpern also noted that DC has allowed the series’ storytelling to push its limits many times; a source close to the series says that the EPs are often incredulous about what they have been able to get away, plot-wise, in the first two seasons.

This is some bullshit. I can’t believe we’re still in a place in society where a superhero can’t tongue a woman down and also sell a toy. What is this, the Crusades? I mean Dwayne Johnson is the highest-paid actor in the world and is making commercial deals left, right, and even he admits to eating pussy! Let Batman munch!
