On this blessed Caturday, let’s pay tribute to this freefalling pussy who jumped from an apartment building to keep from turning into charbroiled cat. And Chicago better prepare itself, because Leonardo DiCaprio and the rest of the Pussy Posse will soon be visiting the city after hearing that pussy falls from the sky there. Although, they’ll probably ask first, “But wait, how old is the falling pussy?”

The Chicago Sun-Times says that on Thursday, a fire broke out on the fifth floor of an apartment building in the Chicago neighborhood of Englewood. Larry Langford, a rep for the Chicago Fire Department, says that as firefighters worked to put out the fire, people down below noticed that a black cat was looking out of an open window and probably thinking, “If I make it out of here alive, I’m going to make it my life’s mission to destroy humanity for putting me in this fucking position!” Although, I’m pretty sure that it’s every cat’s life’s mission to destroy humanity. Larry says that eventually, the cat dropped and not because a dog pushed her, but because she jumped on her own.

While crews were working to extinguish the fire, onlookers on the sidewalk began pointing at one of the open windows as the cat approached a ledge, Langford said.

“It was looking out for quite a while,” Langford said. “After a couple of minutes the cat got closer to the edge and it looked like she was getting ready to go and she just did.”

Thankfully, the stunt cat dropped onto a patch of grass, bounced a bit, and then strolled away like nothing. She probably didn’t even use one of her nine lives on that fall!

Larry Langford adds that the cat went under a car for a bit before coming out and trying to scale the building. The badass probably wanted to do it again. The fire was contained in one unit, there were no injuries, and they’re trying to track down the cat’s human.

Tom Cruise better watch it. Because here’s a star who performed a death-defying stunt and didn’t get hurt! After the next Mission: Impossible movie comes out, expect Hollywood to reboot the entire series into Mission: ImPAWssible starring this cat.
