Open Post: Hosted By Allison Janney Embracing The Gray

April 7, 2021 / Posted by:

Amazon woman acting icon Alison Janney appeared on The Drew Barrymore yesterday, and she talked about the new ‘do that she revealed on Instagram last year. It’s gray, it’s short, it’s easy, breezy, beautiful. Allison explained that she was over hair color and wearing extensions, wigs, and hairpieces. Now she’s free! Freeee!

Allison said, via ET Canada:

“I cannot tell you how amazing it is to feel free. Free from hair color and hair extensions and hair tape and blah blah blah. To be able to run my hands through my hair and hopefully sometime a man will be able to run his hands through my hair and just appreciate it. It’s heaven. I am enjoying this new chapter in my hairdo world.”

61-year-old Allison talked about the time she was trying to flirt with a guy on the streets of New York and two extensions came out when she was touching her hair. She covertly dropped them on the ground but says it was embarrassing. She says she’ll always love wigs for performances, though, adding:  “Everybody knows I wear a wig on the ‘Mom’ program now for sure.”

Then Drew and Allison discussed their dating lives. They’re both single, and Allison says she has a crush on Cole Hauser, the guy who plays Rip on Yellowstone. Sorry, Allison, according to Wikipedia, he’s married to one of the twins from Sweet Valley High. Allison said she’d eventually like to find someone to share her life with, “but if it doesn’t happen, I’ll be just fine.” She adds that she doesn’t regret not having kids (she wisely states she’d rather regret not having them than having them), then she goes on about how much she loves her dogs.

I love Allison’s new do. And I’m sure all the women who’ve embraced their gray during the pandemic love it too. And, as someone with extremely “fine” (read: thin) hair, Allison’s wig admission is a nice reminder that not everybody in Hollywood is walking around with a thick, luscious mane. Nope, most celebrity hair is as fake as the fat on their asses/tits/lips and those perfect little ski-jump noses.
