Justin Bieber Doesn’t Carry A Cellphone Anymore

While talking to Billboard magazine, 27-year-old Justin Bieber got into how he’s worked so much on his mental health and isn’t Super Glued to social media 24 hours a day. He doesn’t even carry a cellphone!  Wow, he’s so off the grid, you may be thinking. But no. He isn’t. Justin still uses an iPad. So is he really disconnected from anything? Not even at all. How else would he manage to get into internet squabbles with doctors over medicinal tips?

Justin’s new album Justice is coming out this month, and he talked to Billboard about the “boundaries” he’s created for himself in his work life. Justin canceled 15 shows during his Purpose tour in 2017 when he was dealing with a lot of mental health issues. His team now considers the moment a “clear mental health crisis.” I guess a part of his work on himself has to do with not using a phone because now he communicates with his team via iPad (is that different?). He said:

“I definitely learned how to have boundaries, and I just don’t feel like I owe anybody anything. That has helped me to be able to just say no and just be firm in it and know that my heart [wants] to help people, but I can’t do everything. I want to sometimes, but it’s just not sustainable.”

Justin has really figured out his work/life balance and at 6:00 pm it’s time for “husband Justin.” I’ve seen how he talks to Hailey Bieber in the comments, I don’t need to know about “husband Justin.” Leave that for the celebrity fanfiction archives, please. He also goes to bed at a “reasonable hour” and wakes up at 8:00 am.

Justin said he’s “in a really good place” now and that he’s changed his outlook on things and doesn’t care about success since he’s already such a baller. That striving for achievements was what helped lead to his 2017 breakdown:

“At this point, I’ve reached a level of success so many times that I know success isn’t a be-all, end-all to my happiness… Everything was about success, benchmarks and such, and then I was just still empty, you know? All my relationships were suffering, but I had all this success and all of this money, and it just wasn’t fulfilling for me.”

This is when Justin started focusing on his relationship with God. Well hey, you don’t need a cellphone to talk to Big J!

“I just changed my priorities so that I didn’t [become] another statistic of young musicians that ended up, like, not making it. There was a time where I really did have my identity wrapped up in my career, but I really do have an overflow of feeling like my purpose is to use my music to inspire.”

The singer is cognizant of his large platform and shared that he asks God “that I’m forgiven” every time he thanks him for his many blessings.

“I just want to be somebody who can say, “Look, I did some things that I’m not too proud of, but I took a look in the mirror and decided to make some changes, and you can too.””

So Justin Bieber’s pants have gone from being saggy in the back due to an over-filled diaper to being saggy from him trying to stuff an iPad in his back pocket! And since he’s not touching his own iPhone as often, I hope he’s not touching other people’s iPhones as well, because nobody needs a repeat of him grabbing a fan’s phone and rubbing his parts on it. iNO.
