Stacey Dash Is Sorry For The Offensive Shit She’s Said And Is No Longer A Trump Supporter

Well, I guess the MAGAs can no longer count Stacey Dash as their “black friend.” Because she has retired her MAGA hat. Stacey worked as a commentator for Fox News from 2014 until they fired her in 2017. The irony is that 2017 Stacey Dash may have been too crazy for Fox News, but now she’d look like one of the tame ones. And Stacey knows it! Stacey did an interview with DailyMailTV and said that the attack on the Capitol was a turning point for her and she doesn’t want to be cast as the “angry, conservative, Black woman.” The internet has reacted accordingly and I’m so happy about it.

While talking to DMTV, Stacey apologized for some of the past political shit she’s said, and Complex reminded us of some of her “greatest hits“:

In 2015, she claimed then-president Barack Obama didn’t “give a shit” about terrorism. She also called for the elimination of Black History Month, BET, and the NAACP Image Awards; made transphobic comments during an Entertainment Tonight interview; and defended former president Donald Trump’s “very fine people” remarks in response to the deadly Charlottesville rally.

But listen, she can explain. She was very angry. And while the Fox News crowd has no sympathy for that type of person, we should in her case.

“I’ve lived my life being angry, which is what I was on Fox News. I was the angry, conservative, Black woman. And at that time in my life it was who I was… I realized in 2016 that anger is unsustainable and it will destroy you. I made a lot of mistakes because of that anger.”

Stacey had more to say:

“There are things that I am sorry for. Things that I did say, that I should not have said them the way I said them. They were very arrogant and prideful and angry. And that’s who Stacey was, but that’s not who Stacey is now. Stacey’s someone who has compassion, empathy. God has forgiven me, how dare I not forgive someone else. I don’t want to be judged, so how dare I judge anyone else. So if anyone has ever felt that way about me, like I’ve judged, that I apologize for because that’s not who I am.”

Never EVER trust anyone who speaks in third person.

Stacey explained that the attack on the Capitol was it for her. I guess all the horrible fuckery leading up to that day was completely acceptable, but now she doesn’t want to be grouped in with those types:

“Being a supporter of Trump has put me in some kind of box that I don’t belong in. But he’s not the president… I think the Capitol riots were appalling. When that happened I was like “OK, I’m done. I’m truly done.” Because senseless violence of any kind I denounce. What happened on January 6 was just appalling and stupid.”

Stacey wants to be an actress again, but good luck with that. And she said that she learned her conservative ways from growing up in the hood:

“Being a black conservative is not easy… This idea that people think I’m coming from a place of judgement with the things I believe? No, it’s experience. I’m from the hood. The codes of the street are very conservative. If you’re not a hustler, if you don’t know how to hustle, how to make your money, you’re a lamb for the slaughter.”

Oh yeah, the codes of the street frequently lead to MAGA conservatives. Absolutely a common thing!

So, guess how people took Stacey’s apology?

So yeah, everyone is definitely welcoming Stacey back with open arms. Because I’m sure her denouncing Trump has nothing to do with Candace Owens stealing her thunder and those MAGA checks drying up. Not. At. All.
