KFC’s Little Bucket Parfaits!

I’ll admit that it’s been a while since I’ve had KFC (read: like, it’s been a week), but I didn’t learn until a few days ago that they no longer offer up the plastic cup of sugar heaven deliciousness known as the Little Bucket Parfait! How did I miss the mobs of people outside of KFC protesting against this act that is almost as disgusting as KFC’s food!

Currently, my local KFC only offers basic ass chocolate chip cookies as a dessert option. I know, it’s sad what KFC has become. It used to be a gourmet emporium that provided mouths with a truly decadent dessert that was the perfect elegant finale to an elegant fast-food fried chicken meal. Cookies aren’t dessert! They’re a snack! But as far as I can remember, KFC sold Little Bucket Parfaits and kept them in a glass refrigerator by the cash register.

Little Bucket Parfaits came in several flavors like chocolate creme, strawberry, and lemon. It was made up of filling, whipped cream, and a shortbread-like bottom (which strangely enough, is my Grindr username). They are no longer of this world anymore, though. A Change.org petition tells me that KFC got rid of them in 2012 because that’s the year that their deal with Sara Lee ended and Sara Lee produced them.

There are many dupe recipes on the internet for KFC’s Little Bucket Parfaits, and yes, you could throw one together using Cool Whip, some Snack Pack pudding, and Lorna Doones, but KFC should still bring them back. And if they’re ever planning to do a sequel to that “sexy” and blasphemous KFC ad starring Mario Lopez as a horny Colonel Sanders, they can announce the return of their Little Bucket Parfaits by having Mario say to his lovah, “How about I creme in that little bucket of yours?”
