Open Post: Hosted By Blaze, The Husky Who Runs In His Sleep

The highlight of my year has been sleep. Beautiful, escapist slumber. Where I’m not bombarded with coronavirus stats or Apocalyptic tweets or election nonsense. The lowlight of my year? My ass fused to the couch due to an alarming lack of exercise. But one canine trailBlazer has managed to get his reps in despite his love of snoozing. Introducing Blaze, the husky who runs and naps at the same time.

Blaze lives in Guernsey, an island in the England Channel. His owner writes:

“Blaze, my Siberian Husky, twitches and runs in his sleep quite often, but when his feet are against the radiator he makes a lot of noise! And if I’m asleep downstairs it wakes me up! Sometimes he even does little squeaky barks in his sleep but he never barks when he’s awake, he usually only howls!”

Awww, squeaky little barks. What a good boy. Here’s the video of Blaze in action:

Blaze does indeed look like he’s running. If only the mat he was lying on was bright green instead of black. Then some Internet tech hero could green screen his little dog body so it’s virtually prancing around a dog park or on the moon. Green screen is perhaps the only way many of us will ever be able to travel again. Embrace the new world order, people!
