HarperCollins Is Suing Lindsay Lohan For Breach Of Contract

Someone really thought that Lindsay Lohan was going to sit her ass down and “write” a whole book, or at least sit down for five minutes with a ghostwriter who would put her ramblings into a coherent string of paragraphs. But publishing house HarperCollins decided to roll the dice and gave her a $365,000 advance. Play stupid games, win silly prizes. To be fair to HC, they signed the deal in 2014, and back then, Lindsay was actually writing some interesting stuff. The book never manifested and now they’re suing. Luckily for Lindsay, she’ll be able to easily settle up with HC because she’s started a new business venture. And Lindsay Lohan hasn’t tanked a business yet!

TMZ says that HarperCollins and Lindsay signed the deal in March 2014, and she was contractually obligated to deliver the first draft in May 2015. That never happened, so they gave Lindsay a two-year extension to March 2017. At that time, they paid her the $365,000 advance against future royalties. And again, the book never showed up. How do you not receive a book and then give Lindsay money? That’s where HC lost the plot.

March 2017 came and went with Lindsay only delivering up cigarette smoke-covered empty promises. So in September 2018, HC had it and informed Lindsay that the deal was off and asked for the $365,000 back. HA! That’s another hilarious choice on HC’s part, because I’m sure that when they asked for their money back, she screamed, “I don’t have it! The Black kid’s got it!

HarperCollins is also suing for interest and legal fees. So with possible settlement fees and legal bills coming Lindsay’s way, it’s a good thing she’s starting her own business.

Lindsay has created her own startup business in the UAE and promoted her new venture on Instagram:

Since Lindsay Lohan is Lindsay Lohan, she hasn’t said what her new business is about. Maybe it’s a vitamins business? But while announcing her new mysterious business, she pushed another business called Virtuzone, which helps foreigners set up a company in Dubai.

I know that Lindsay will be very busy with this new money-laundering front, I mean, MLM scheme, I mean legitimate business, but I’m sure she’ll find the time to finally fulfill her contract with HC by delivering a book. And by that I mean copying and pasting her ex-rival Hilary Duff‘s novel Elixir.
