Open Post: Hosted By The Return Of Heidi Klum And Tim Gunn

Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn‘s new Amazon Prime series, Making The Cut, is pretty much Project Runaway but with a bigger budget (they got Jeff Bezos money now!) and Naomi Campbell as a judge. So basically what I’m saying as someone who loves fashion and models slinging clever insults at people is: I’m in. Oh wait, that’s Project Runway talk and Heidi has moved on from that. Sort of. Anyway, the trailer is now here.

Making The Cut upped the grand prize from the measly $100,000 someone used to get on Project Runway (they get $250,000 now) to $1 million and the winner will get to design a line for Amazon Fashion. But on to Naomi.

Naomi is a judge on Making The Cut along with Nicole Ritchie, designer Joseph Altuzarra, Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Paris Carine Roitfeld, and model/influencer Chiara Ferragni. And this first trailer lets me know that she is back, bitch! At one point in the trailer, she says:

“No, no, no… I don’t like this–I’m not putting my mother in that outfit.”

And it made me think, “Does Naomi Campbell hate her mother?” Why is she using her own mother as a measurement of bad taste? Is this a challenge to design for Naomi’s mother? Is there a level of bad you find acceptable for your own mother? No one is safe from Naomi’s criticism, eh?!
