Ben Affleck Might Be Casually Dating A Musician
Earlier this week, we received two new updates on Ben Affleck’s life. The first, which was a pretty big bummer, was that Ben had a confirmed sobriety setback at a Halloween party on Saturday night. The other was that Ben was looking for love on Raya. Well, love, or someone to share an XL iced coffee from Dunkin – whatever his prerogative may be. E! News and UsWeekly have a few details about Ben’s new lady, and I’ll let you know right now: it’s not a “model” in her 20s.
On Saturday night, when Ben was seen stumbling around outside of a West Hollywood Halloween party, he was also seen with his arms around a “mystery woman.” Well, mystery solved. Her name is Katie Cherry, and she’s a 33-year-old musician from Los Angeles.
Here’s what else we know about Katie Cherry: Ben is probably the most famous contact in her phone, but he’s not her only brush with fame. Two years ago, Tara Reid tweeted that Cherry was her #bestfriend. And according to Radar Online, Katie Cherry, whose real name is Kathryn Redino, accused Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino’s brother Marc of holding her hostage in a limo bound for New Jersey, and allegedly threatened her with a broken bottle. Katie allegedly filed a complaint against Marc, but no charges were made. Police then allegedly issued a criminal complaint against Katie, alleging she filed a false report against Marc. And here I was assuming that hanging out with Tara Reid would be her messiest celebrity encounter.

According to Us Weekly’s source, Ben and Katie met a few months ago and have seen each other a few times, and are “very into each other.” If you think Katie is Ben’s new Lindsay Shookus (aka his full-time caffeine retriever), you might be disappointed. One source says that Ben and Katie are not serious right now. A source that spoke with E! News said much of the same:
“Ben has dated over the past year but this is nothing that serious at this time.”
Ok, so it’s casual. They’re just casually going to Halloween parties, and casually going to the casino together (where Ben also looked like he was in not-great shape, sobriety-wise).

According to a source that spoke with In Touch, Ben and Katie left their Halloween party on Saturday and went to a casino, where they stayed for about an hour. Another source described Ben as being very clearly inebriated, and looking “sleepy and tired.” I kind of hope that Ben really isn’t serious about dating Katie, because it sounds like Ben needs someone that will help steer him away from boozy casino visits and towards…I don’t know, a board games night with bottomless glasses of La Croix.
A night that involved a West Hollywood Halloween party AND a casino visit clearly wasn’t a great date night option for Ben. The only way it could have been a worse idea is if Katie had said, “I should call up my friend Tara, you’d love her!” Because let’s face it, Tara Reid is like the final video game boss of a messy night out.
