Drake Slams The Talk That His Six-Pack Is From Plastic Surgery
Insanely rich rapper/owner of Toronto (he is, I live here) Drake threw up a thirst trap to his Instagram page yesterday showing off his shirtless body. Drake was obviously trying to make us drool over his hours in the gym listening to Taylor Swift music–but some claimed that his abs weren’t the result of hard work. They claimed they were the result of a plastic surgeon’s scalpel, and this isn’t the first time Drake’s been accused of getting the celebrity abs special.
E! News reports that Drake got into a slap battle of sorts, which was probably just jokes between friends, but one is a celebrity with millions of followers so it makes news. It started with Drake posting this:
One person was not ready to give 32-year-old Drake the recognition he thought he deserved and so he slapped at him. Hip-hop artist DJ Carnage commented on Drake’s post:
“You got fake ab surgery in Colombia. You ain’t fooling anybody.”
Of course he’s referring to the “ab etching” thing that Pauly D supposedly did. On the one hand: it’s nice to see men finally get plastic surgery things develop because the need to maintain beauty into aging–or really at any age–is now not just for women, but men too. But on the other hand it’s like: wow humans are shallow trash (me included; you know I love muscles).
But Drake wasn’t going to take this slander lying down! He memorized all of 1989 while getting those abs! He put in the work and he wanted his praise! He shot back:
“Is this cause you are angry about the one thing that happened with that one person the other day that you thought was your wifey?”
Cryptic but surely effective. Drake then cleared up to us–the peasants–that this wasn’t war, but merely squabbles between the upper class, writing:
“Aye relax we friends in real life.”
Whether or not DJ Carnage was trying to stir up his namesake or if he was just trying be funny with his buddy, Drake has been accused of this highly-specific thing in the past. Joe Budden rapped about Drake’s “sculpted” midsection in his diss track Afraid, and Pusha T also brought it up in a diss track called Infrared which featured lyrics like: “surgical summer” and “snip, snip, snip.”
Pusha T had previously called out Drake for some of his alleged secrets when he claimed that Drake had a secret baby. Drake initially denied the rumor, but then admitted to having the kid. So it seems Drake has a history of covering up the truth for optics-sake and Pusha a history of whistle-blowing.
But maybe we should give Drake the benefit of the doubt? He’s been accused of other things in the past which didn’t seem to pan out, so maybe this is like that? Also, Colombia? No offence, but someone as rich as Drake isn’t flying to Colombia for an ab surgery–that’s for poor people. And if there’s something I find believable it’s that Drake got those abs from those Tay-Tay workouts. Her music would make me puke so much I got abs, too.
