Christina Aguilera Is Down To Do A Duet With Britney Spears

Christina Aguilera was on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night, and she dished on everything from her old rivalries in the 90s to Nicki Minaj and Cardi B’s fashion week spat. She got started on how the media liked to hype up her own celebrity rivalries back in the day, and she might actually be the only person who wishes Twitter was a thing back then. She claims that, if Twitter existed then, she could have then shut down rumors that she wanted to pull out Britney Spears’ weave or steal her Beanie Babies or whatever it was people were saying was going on in the 90s. She said that if there had been social media, they could have done a song together. Jimmy claims they could still do that, which got Christina to agree…with a bit of possible shade.

Here’s the clip:

If her reps say okay!” HA! What a way to remind people that, even though Britney may still fill arenas and have more hit songs, at least Christina can say yes or no on her own without getting approval from her father or whatever hydraulic machines move Britney’s limbs for her.

After the Britney love/possible shade, Christina then moved onto what we all wanted to hear: did she know Cardi and Nicki were throwing down steps away from where she was performing at the Harper’s Bazaar party at New York Fashion Week. Alas, she said she didn’t even know it was happening until after. Someone tried to say they fought during “Fighter,” which got her excited, but then another queen told her it was during “Genie In A Bottle,” which would be a little less on-brand:

I really don’t think either would be my go-to Christina fight song. To be honest, I don’t get why anyone would be inspired to fight during a Christina performance. Once she starts dipping into the Burlesque songbook, you should want to do a Cher impression and throw on a boa – not a punch!
