Taylor Swift Was Happy About Getting Katy Perry’s Olive Branch

Either because she realized the grudge game was blowing up in her face, or maybe she just had a great afternoon with her cats and was feeling selfless, but Taylor Swift took one look at the olive branch Katy Perry sent her on the opening night of her tour and happily accepted it. No, really.

A snitch from Taylor’s camp tells People that the whole peace offering from Kamp Katy meant a lot:

“She was truly happily surprised and very impressed that Katy reached out.It was a great start to Taylor’s tour.”

Some people were speculating Katy was a little pissed off from Taylor blabbing about it on social media instead of picking up a damn phone and thanking her diva-to-diva, but the same snitch said it was all done with the best (*cough*and stunt queen*cough*) intentions:

“That Taylor posted Katy’s letter wasn’t mean-spirited. She wanted her fans to know what is going on.”

Plus, Katy is now too busy to be feuding with Rihanna…she shouldn’t juggle diva battles! Katy tweeted something that led some to think she’s just fine with Taylor telling her armada of fans to stand down on cyber-bullying her frenemy:

Some are wondering why it is that now of all times is when Katy is on an apology campaign to Taylor, and a source told Entertainment Tonight it’s all about uniting as women and being a role model:

“Katy planned a very personal, sweet apology and took time to write a kind note in hopes Taylor would see how much she cared about putting this behind them. Katy told friends if Taylor didn’t accept this apology, she would keep trying because she is done holding on to the past and wants to be part of the change in today’s society. She wants to set a good example for women, so she planned to never give up, if that is what it took.”

So even if the Spice Girls don’t reunite to give us girl power, we’ll always have Taylor and Katy! Though, I’m sure Taylor then told her flunky to tell the press, “But Kim Kardashian could send over an entire olive orchard, and Taylor wouldn’t forgive – an elephant and the Butterscotch Don never forget!
