Open Post: Hosted By Janelle Monae Grinding On Tessa Thompson

Janelle Monae has a new album, Dirty Computer (aka the first words that a Genius Bar tech says after opening my laptop and seeing what I’ve got saved on my desktop), coming out in April, and yesterday she released the first two songs and videos from it. Janelle put out Django Jane, and Make Me Feel, which sounds like a B-side written by a pre-Jehovah’s Witness Prince when he was a proud raunchy ass horny ho and not afraid to let the world know it. In other words, I love it.

The video for Make Me Feel is what Prince’s video for Kiss would birth out after having a bareback threesome with the Black Mirror episode San Junipero and a Jane Fonda workout video from the 80s. In the video, Janelle plays the cooing queen of a club filled with David Bowie impersonators and Grace Jones back-up dancers, and she also plays a clubgoer. Tessa Thompson (who was in Thor: Ragnahoweveryouspellit, Selma and Creed) plays one of her love interests, who feeds her a lollipop (not a euphemism) and hump-dances on her along with a dude dancer during a bisexual ballet. For a few months, fans have been wondering if Janelle and Tessa are bumpin’ ‘ginas for real, so this video only adds fuel to the gayelle love fire.

Janelle’s mentor Prince was helping her with the album before he went off to the great beyond, and that’s probably why Make Me Feel sounds and looks like a love letter to him. She said this to The Guardian:

It’s difficult for me to even speak about this because Prince was helping me with the album, before he passed on to another frequency. [His death was] a stab in the stomach. The last time I saw him was New Year’s Day. I performed a private party in St Bart’s with him, and after we sat and just talked for five hours.”

I would say that Prince is somewhere screaming at his minions to fan him faster after he got scandalized by the sight of his protégée dry fucking a man AND a woman in a video, but he’s probably still busy cursing Justin Timberlake’s wrong ass for putting his image on laundry.
