Demi Lovato Said TIME Magazine Is A Hungry, Hungry Hypocrite
TIME Magazine revealed its Person of the Year yesterday, and it was the “silence breakers.” Some people responded with a chain of “Why is Taylor Swift on the cover?” But then people opened the cover and saw Donald Trump was a runner-up and thought it was a little tone deaf. Particularly Demi Lovato.
E! News says if Demi ever becomes editor-in-chief of TIME, there won’t be any funny business because she says anyone appearing in the Person of the Year issue should be there for good, honorable reasons. Sorry, Kris Jenner!
Time mag highlights brave women coming forward against sexual assault on the cover but names a man with sexual assault allegations against him runner up to person of the year.. Really @TIME? #hypocrites

I’ve become less vocal about my distain for certain people over the past year because it only divides our country even more but this is worth speaking up about. @TIME mag – very disappointed in your hypocrisy and disrespect toward the women on your cover.

To be named POTY by @TIME it should be for doing something positive or brave LIKE the women on the cover. It’s annoying that it’s just about impact on the news.

Interestingly, the normally vocal chanteuse had nothing to say about her favorite feminist taking up valuable cover space, but she did retweet someone who said Kesha should have been on the cover. Basically, Demi thinks it’s weird having all these people who bravely came forward to accuse someone of sexual harassment on page 1, and page 2 features the harasser-in-chief. In TIME’s defense, they say they’ve assigned the award since 1927 to the person or group of people who have shaken news that year “for better or worse.” Somewhere down at your local Toys ‘R Us is a pile a fidget spinners feeling royally pissed by the snub!
