Adele Admits That She’s Married

During her acceptance speech for Album of the Year at the Grammys last month, Adele referred to Simon Konecki, the father of her son and partner of 5 years, as her “husband.” But then backstage, she threw the car in reverse and went back to calling him her “partner.” So confusing, Well, wonder no more.

People says Adele made it all very clear during a concert in the Australian city of Brisbane on Saturday. Adele dropped the marriage bomb while talking about the feelings of her song Someone Like You.

“I was trying to remember how it was I felt at the beginning of the relationship that inspired that record because as bad as a break up can be, as bitter and horrible and messy as it can be, that feeling when you first fall for someone is the best feeling on earth, and I am addicted to that feeling. Obviously I can’t go through with those feelings because I’m married now. I’ve found my next person.”

As for how long they’ve been married, that’s still a bit of a mystery. Adele spoke about her relationship in the December 2016 issue of Vanity Fair, and she said she and Simon were not married, and that she didn’t need to be because having a kid with him was bigger commitment. A month after the interview came out, Adele was seen wearing a gold ring on that finger.

Personally, I want to believe their marriage happened at Christmas after Adele got festively tanked on mulled wine and took the lyrics to Winter Wonderland a little too seriously. “Oi Simon, I fink that there snowman we built just asked if we was married, and I was like, ya mate, if you fink you could do the job. So go get us a couple rings, love, and let’s do dis! And hurry up, my arse is freezing out here.
