Kesha Released A New Song, And I Wonder Whoever Could It Possibly Be About?
Thanks to the never-ending court battle for her freedom with alleged music industry villain Dr. Luke, it was starting to feel like Kesha would never release anything new. Her last album, Warrior, came out in 2012. Since then, her singing has been limited to covers and remixes. Kesha finally dropped a new song and announced that her new album, Rainbow, is coming out on August 11. Kesha’s new song also came with a really Kesha-esque video.
Sony Might Drop Dr. Luke
Sony claimed last year that they couldn’t #FreeKesha, but it looks like they very much want to be free of Dr. Luke. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the fake doctor at the heart of Kesha’s years-long contract battle is getting pushed out by Sony.
Kesha’s Amended Lawsuit Against Dr. Luke Got Rejected By A Judge
Back in January, both Kesha and Dr. Evil’s spiritual son Dr. Luke asked a judge to amend the claims they had against each other regarding his ongoing contract lawsuit. Dr. Luke wanted his to include another allegation that Kesha, her mom Pebe Sebert, and her fans were smearing his name all over the place. Kesha, on the other hand, had a much longer list of amendments.
Dr. Luke Wants To Subpoena One Of Kesha’s Fans
When we last left Kesha vs. Dr. Luke, she had dropped her remaining abuse claims against him. But Dr. Luke wasn’t done. In September, Dr. Luke filed another defamation lawsuit against Kesha’s mama Pebe Sebert. Billboard says that Dr. Luke is now trying to drag one of Kesha’s fans into it. On Friday, a court document was released showing that Dr. Luke – a guy who I’m starting to think was made in a Disney villain factory – had requested to subpoena a person named Michael Eisele.
Dr. Luke Is Suing Kesha’s Mom Again
Last month, Kesha dropped the remaining abuse allegations from her lawsuit against Dr. Luke. A few weeks earlier, she dropped her California lawsuit against Dr. Luke (the one in which she accused Dr. Luke of being a high-functioning monster). I thought that it might be the beginning of the end of this legal messiness, but that’s not the case.
Kesha Has Dropped Her Remaining Abuse Claims Against Dr. Luke
Two weeks ago, Kesha decided to drop the original lawsuit she filed against Dr. Luke in California back in 2014. Shortly after the news broke that she was legally backing away from her first lawsuit, Kesha hopped on Twitter to let everyone know that she was still pursuing the lawsuits that had been filed in New York. Kesha has changed her mind about that last one, because Billboard says she recently dismissed her remaining assault allegations.
