When the clock hit 12:01 this morning, the Writers Guild of America went on strike after talks with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers failed, and their contract expired. One of the major things that WGA wants is fair pay in the streaming era. The strike means that production has been paused on many series, and late-night talk shows are going dark. There hasn’t been a WGA strike in 15 years. Hopefully, the strike ends before the most prolific writer in Hollywood becomes AI, and we hear the words, “And the Emmy for Outstanding Writer in a Drama Series goes to… ChatGPT!”  – The Hollywood Reporter
