Eric Braeden Of “Young And The Restless” Calls Out Eva Longoria For Allegedly Mocking Her Soap Opera Past
Not that we needed a reminder, but people who work on soap operas are dramatic. And that’s an occupational trait that serves most of the actors on and offscreen, as was exhibited by beloved soap opera actor Eric Braeden who’s primarily known as the dastardly handsome bastard Victor Newman on The Young and the Restless, and he is very proud of the work he’s done. So when Eva Longoria made a comment about her acting past, particularly her time on Y&R, her words sent Eric into a rage so bad you can literally hear the Y&R theme music playing as you read his scathing tweets basically calling Eva one of the worse actresses to ever step foot on their soundstage.
Recently Eva sat down with Chris Wallace for a chat about politics over on CNN. But at one point during their conversation, Chris began to discuss Eva’s past before showing a clip from her time on Y&R. And her co-star’s name must have been Eggs because Eva was a huge ham in the scene Chris showed, playing into her embarrassment about her time on the show while working another job that was more lucrative.
“I went to a temp agency, and they hired me. And I was so good at it when I got Young and the Restless it didn’t pay enough for me to live off being an actor. So I continued being a headhunter and Young and the Restless. And I would hide the fact that I was on Young and the Restless to my clients because they didn’t want a dumb actress handling their accounts. And one time one of my clients was like “You look like a girl I’ve seen on a soap opera” and I go “NO!”…I was the opposite of a publicists dream, I was like “Don’t tell ANBODY I’m on that show!””

Well, Eric did not take too kindly to Eva’s origin story since he has been a member of the Y&R cast for the past one hundred years. And according to Soaps.com, he lit a fire under Eva’s ass, letting her know that she could NEVAH be as good as the pets on set, let alone any of the actresses from Y&R.
Soap Twitter was stunned by the turn of events and quickly set to trying to figure out what had set off Braeden, who was not only stung by Longoria’s remarks but went a step further and dissed her acting on Young & Restless to boot.
Although the star didn’t tag the actress, who went on to become a household name in Desperate Housewives, she was looped in by fans who were commenting after the fact. Here’s what he had to say:

What transpired next should have been referred to as An Intimate Evening With Eric as he replied to countless tweets from the comments section with endearing words of encouragement;

Eva better be somewhere drafting up an apology letter to get back in Eric’s good graces because he read her like a script. And clearly, she knew not to talk too much shit about Desperate Housewives because if she did, Teri Hatcher would be on a mission to rekindle their feud since the drama between them makes every episode of Y&R look like Sesame Street.
