One day, Mary Warwick of Burbidge, Leicestershire, England, came home to find her one-year-old dachshund, Darcie, peeking at her from the window. That made Mary do a double-take because Darcie was supposed to be in the kitchen with her dog siblings. Mary made sure her doggy friends wouldn’t bust out by putting up a baby gate. When Darcie kept getting out, Mary decided to get to the bottom of The Curious Case Of Escapin’ Darcie by setting up a camera in the kitchen. That led to Mary cracking the case. So was Darcie spreading her wiener ears and flying to the other side of the wall? Is Darice the Simone Biles of dachshunds, and she gracefully lept over that barrier? No, Darcie got over the gate by using her bulldog brother Benson as a step stool!

Here’s the footage of what it would look like if Kevin Hart and The Rock starred in a remake of The Great Escape. Actually, I take the back, their remake wouldn’t be as nearly as adorable as this:

Mary says that Benson the American Pocket bulldog is a gentle giant, so she’s not surprised that he went along with Darcie’s schemes. Mary thinks that the other dogs could probably jump over the gate too, but they don’t, because they’re well-behaved angels, unlike troublemaker Darcie! via People:

“She’s more mischievous than the other dogs; she’s like the ringleader,” the owner added of the dachshund.

Darcie, according to Warwick, has a history of causing a scene.

“Darcie’s the one that if there’s a toilet roll available, she’ll go and thread it. You can’t leave washing in the kitchen as she’ll pull all the clothes down,” the pet parent explained.

“She’s just a little bit naughty. We did really well with having well-behaved dogs, and she’s just come along and completely ruined it,” Warwick said.
