The Stick Horse-Riding Owl!
Later today, you will find me passed out in a sugar coma on my living room floor while surrounded by the empty wrappers of all the candy I bought for 50% off at Target. And that means that Halloween is over, and it’s now November 1st. But even though Halloween season is over, it’s not too late to pay tribute to this cowboy wicked witch owl wonder who wowed a neighborhood by flying around with a stick horse they stole from somebody’s child. And while I’m loving the giddyup owl, that toy horse head doesn’t look amused at all.
About three weeks ago, Eric Lind, a school administrator from Illinois, wrote on Facebook that his parent’s neighborhood in Eureka, IL is currently home to a young owl. And that young owl was spotted looking like they were starring in an owl-centric reboot of Seabiscuit by flying around with a stick horse. Eric posted the above picture of the owl with their polyester horse head friend and a video of the owl serving “I’ll get you my pretty” adorableness by flying around like the Wicked Witch of Eureka. Eric added that they don’t believe the owl is entangled with that stick horse.

Honestly, Eric gave bad advice when he said that the owner of that stick horse should talk to the owl. If anybody asks that owl where they got the stick horse, they’re only going to answer with, “WHO?!” That owl isn’t going to say shit! And if the Tootsie Pop Owl’s equestrian second cousin is still flying around Eureka on their toy horsey head today, I have a feeling that many parents will be paying a visit to the local police department and will plop down a bag of their kid’s Halloween candy in front of an officer before saying, “I ate one of my kid’s candies and then spotted an owl flying on a horse. I think this shit is spiked with LSD!”
