Lizzo Addressed Her Haters During Her MTV VMAs Acceptance Speech

August 29, 2022 / Posted by:

The annual MTV Video Music Awards came on once again and celebrated the accomplishments of many people who can’t sing or have any real talent. But some true artists slip through the cracks and win awards, like everyone’s favorite full0figured flutist Lizzo. For years she has been giving all of her haters every piece of her ass to kiss whenever they try to break down her spirit with their negativity. And recently comedian Aries Spears disrespected Lizzo’s entire catalog of music and talents after saying he can’t get past her appearance. So in response, Lizzo tailored a nice message in her acceptance speech for the Video for Good award that was directly aimed at Aries and anyone else who thinks as he does.

Hot New Hip Hop reports Aries was being interviewed for some reason and the topic of Lizzo came up. Although he was asked to comment on her music, he decided to comment on Lizzo’s appearance. Which is ironic…

During an interview with The Art of Dialogue, Spears was asked how he felt about Lizzo’s music– however, his answer was strictly about her weight. “I can’t get past the fact that she looks like the sh*t emoji,” the 47-year-old stated. “She’s got a very pretty face, but she keeps showing her body off like, come on yo.”

What followed was a barrage of support from people who immediately found his comments distasteful, because they honestly were. Sir, the audacity! But if anything, everyone knows Lizzo is confident in who she is as an artist and as a person. Elite Daily reports Lizzo took a little time out of her acceptance speech to address Aries’ comments while paying homage to the infamous manufactured beef at the 2015 VMA’s where Nicki Minaj called out Miley Cyrus about comments she made in an interview. But in this instance, not only was Lizzo’s moment more believable, but it also had substance behind it.

A little over halfway through the Aug. 28 awards show, Lizzo was announced the winner of the Video for Good award, and she seized the spotlight to shade her haters. After thanking her fans for their votes, Lizzo shifted the focus to her detractors: “And now, to the b*tches that got something to say about me in the press,” she began, before choosing not to lower herself to the drama. “You know what, I’m not gonna say nothing. They be like, ‘Lizzo, why don’t you clap back?’ Because b*tch, I’m winning, ho! Big b*tch is winning, ho!”

And now Aries can go slither back to whichever bridge he’s currently living under with the knowledge if you come for Lizzo she will always have the last laugh. And probably make you watch her twerk and play the flute while doing so.
