Austin Butler says that during his first day of crooning out songs in the recording studio for Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis movie, Baz got a bunch of people, including executives, to heckle Austin as he sang. Baz did it so that Austin could empathize with the criticism that Elvis faced including getting booed and heckled by audiences. Austin said it made him go home and cry. Okay, but did Austin cry while wailing out Elvis’ version of I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry? Because I need to know his dedication to being Elvis!
