The Wicked movie, which will star Ariana Grande as Glinda and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, will be split into two parts. The first part will come out on Christmas Day 2024 and the second part will come out on Christmas Day 2025. Director Jon M. Chu claims that they made the decision to release two Wicked movies to avoid cutting songs and other shit from the show (FYI: the stage show’s running time is 2 hours and 45 minutes with one intermission).
