Open Post: Hosted By The “Is It Cake?” Trailer
Remember that dark period of Internet history where we all kept seeing videos of people cutting into things that looked like they were not cake but in fact, it turned out they were cake? We are going back there! In the new Netflix baking competition series, Is It Cake?, bakers bake a cake that does not look like a cake. And then host Mikey Day of Saturday Night Live asks a group of guests to guess which is which? And to think, I just re-learned to trust!
People says that the bakers of Is It Cake? (Andrew Fuller, April Julian, Dessiree Salaverria, Hemu Basu, Jonny Manganello, Justin Rasmussen-Ellen, Nina Charles, Sam Cade, and Steve Weiss) will compete to see who can mind-fuck people the most with their disturbingly accurate cake reproductions. The top three bakers will eventually compete for a final prize of $50,000. Which is far more than they deserve for giving society trust issues!
A panel of celebrity judges includes Loni Love, Michael Yo, Bobby Moynihan, Fortune Feimster, Rebecca Black, King Princess, Arturo Castro, SNL‘s Heidi Gardner, Internet Meme queen Brittany Broski, and Queer Eye’s Karamo Brown. The trailer features Mikey asking a line-up of guests to guess which of the items before them is actual cake. Here’s the trailer for Netflix’s Is It Cake?, which premieres on March 18.
I can’t keep doing this. I was waiting for Mikey Day to take one of his huge knives and cut into his own arm to reveal that he himself was also cake. I’m starting to lose touch with reality!
