A Bride’s Rules For Her Wedding Has Gone Viral

February 3, 2022 / Posted by:

Bride-to-be Jasmine Cruz has gone viral on TikTok after doing a trend where people outline the rules and regulations for their weddings (both upcoming and imaginary). When I heard that Jasmine’s list was making headlines, I assumed it was cuz she’d gone full Bridezilla. But, actually, most of her list is pretty sensible. Jasmine says she’s the only one allowed to wear white, guests should enjoy the open bar but not drink and drive, and, my personal favorite, no one’s allowed to make any big announcements. Jasmine explains, “If you’re pregnant, keep it to yourself. If you wanna propose, keep that to yourself.” Translation: get fucked, thunder-stealers!

Here are Jasmine’s TikToks where she lays out her rules:

The one that caused the most controversy in the comments was “No kids (some exceptions).” But Jasmine says she doesn’t want children running around unattended with their parents not watching them. The “exceptions” are Jasmine’s younger siblings, many of whom are under the age of 15, and out-of-town guests who can’t find babysitters for a whole weekend. Jasmine told People that one family member questioned the no kids rule “until they saw the bills start adding up. Now we’re all on board … ” She adds that she’s the type of girl who’s been thinking about her wedding day since she was a kid, and was surprised when her list got millions of views:

“I did not expect it to go viral at all. I post videos for fun on TikTok and sometimes they get a couple of thousand views and then the next day nothing.”

She added that she was “shocked” to see how quickly her video went viral, adding that she “didn’t expect to have so many people upset at what I thought was common sense (not wearing white, limiting plus ones, etc.).”

But people getting pissed about common sense is the Internet, Jasmine. Rule #13 coulda been, “No murdering at the reception,” and at least one doofus would comment something like, “Bridezilla bitch!!!”
