Regal Cinemas’ Rollercoaster Policy Trailer from the 90s!

One of my favorite subreddits is the Nostalgia one because it’s a wonderland of retroness and reminds me of jewels from the past which somehow got lost in the fuckery landfill called my brain’s memory bin. Case in point: the rollercoaster policy trailer that played at Regal Cinemas before every movie in the 90s. How could I forget about the thrilling and captivating roller coaster ride through giant bags of popcorn, humongous things of sodies, and Godzilla-sized candy?!

Most theaters have a trailer letting you know all their policies like keeping cigarettes out of your mouth and keeping loud words from coming out of your mouth during the movie (but they never said anything about keeping dicks out of your mouth so I guess a little theater beej is okay with them). You know, stuff like that, And in the 90s, Regal Cinemas decided to make moviegoers hold on to their asses with a gripping roller coaster privacy trailer. The trailer gave me Space Mountain on a budget, so who needed to spend $50,000 to go to Disneyland when you could just go to Regal. And does Space Mountain feature exploding popcorn? I think not!

Here is another one of Regal’s roller coaster policy trailers from the 90s but with giant Cokes instead of giant Pepsis:

And here’s the most recent one I found on YouTube. It’s from 2015 so there’s a note about texting and using your phone. They also tried to up the production value of it with dips through canyons and a magical underwater world where popcorn doesn’t get soggy.

As far as I know, I don’t think Regal uses their roller coaster policy trailers anymore. I’m guessing it’s because they were sick of moviegoers going to the customer service desk to beg them to play the roaster coaster trailer again since it was much more theatrically magnificent than the stupid movie they were showing.

UPDATE: I got ten thousand emails (okay, one) letting me know that Regal still shows the roller coaster trailer. I guess they do what their main moneymaker is, after all!
