McDonald’s McNugget Snack Maker!

In the 90s, McDonald’s decided to let kids get started early on becoming a master chef at McDonald’s by bringing McUniversity to them with their food playsets. McDonald’s released several playsets that let kids make their gourmet delicacies at home. Only, somehow, the McDonald’s food playsets achieved the impossible by making McDonald’s food even less edible!

McMcDonald’s sold playsets for everything from a french fry maker to a hamburger maker to a Happy Meal maker to a pie maker to a McNugget maker.

But well if parents thought that they could buy a McNugget maker and put their lazy brats to work by making them churn out McNuggets to sell on the curb, parents thought wrong. McDonald’s food makers didn’t make actual McNuggets or hamburgers. It made vegetarian “snack” versions, which I guess is good news for parents who didn’t want to risk getting salmonella while biting into a barely cooked chicken McNugget their kids made. As Food & Wine points out, the McNuggets were cereal-covered pieces of white bread dipped in honey or chocolate and the fries were a Dollar Tree version of cinnamon toast.

Take the cheeseburger, which is two vanilla wafer cookies, a peanut butter, crushed cereal, and cocoa powder patty, with fruit roll-up toppings and red and yellow icing as condiments.

Chicken McNuggets are bits of white bread dipped in honey and coated in cereal. The french fries? Strips of white bread with cinnamon sugar “salt.” And for dessert: an apple pie made of, you guessed it, white bread and applesauce. There’s even a shake machine that creates simulated milkshakes (no white bread involved).

And here’s that mess in action….

Honestly, those turd-looking “McNuggets” are just offensive. I mean, they’re obviously a billion times healthier than an actual McNugget and won’t give a child very early stages of heart disease. Shame on McDonald’s for going against everything they stand for just to make a buck!
