The Foo Fighters Trolled Westboro Baptist Church Protestors By Playing Disco
Dave Grohl and his Foo Fighters are busy, busy Bee Gees fans. They just released an album of disco covers under the name “The Dee Gees” (a play on Dave’s initials, D.G.), and they’re currently touring across America. Last night they performed in Kansas, and guess who showed up to protest? No, not Courtney Love. And no, not anti-vaxxers ft. Ricky Schroder, who aren’t allowed to buy concert tickets. It was the band’s other other enemy, those homophobes from the Westboro Baptist Church. Ugh, get a hobby, you literal haters.
The Westboro Baptist Church was picketing with signs that read, “God sent the coronavirus in fury”, “Free will is a Satanic Lie” (tell that to my Sims!), and, their go-to, “God STILL hates f*gs!” Well, the Foo Fighters don’t take that kind of Matt Damon-language lightly, so they dressed up in disco duds, hopped on the back of a truck, and jammed out in front of protestors. Then Dave got on the mic and said, via Esquire:
“I’ve got something to say. Because you know what? I love you. I do! The way I look at it, I love everybody. Isn’t that what you’re supposed to do? Can’t you just love everybody? Cause I think it’s about love. That’s what I think. I think we’re all about love. And you shouldn’t be hatin’. You know what y’all should be doin’? You should be dancin’!”
Then the band played a cover of “Stayin’ Alive.” JK, JK, they played “You Should Be Dancing.” Here’s the video:

And here’s another view. The Westboro protestors show up around the 4:05 mark:
This isn’t the first time the Foo Fighters have trolled the Westboro haters. They performed an impromptu concert at the protestors in 2011, and in 2015 they clapped back with a Rick Astley dance party, which featured an appearance by a former Hot Slut of the Day, Speedo Daddy!
No sexy Speedo Daddy this time around, but if middle-aged rockers in bellbottoms is your kink, here are the Foo Fighters AKA the Dee Gees in seventies drag:
Disco sucks? More like disco fucks.
