Cover Girl Nail Slicks!

L’Oreal Studio Line has helped us all get “wet look” hair (or if you were on a budget, Crisco helped you get “wet look” hair). MAC’s Lip Glass has helped us all get “wet look” lips (or if you were on a budget, Vaseline helped you get “wet look” lips). And in the 70s and beyond, Cover Girl helped you get nails that made it look liked you just stepped out of the salon. Actually, that you just ran your ass out of that salon because you were in such a rush that you didn’t even let them dry!

Cover Girl Nail Slicks came out in the late-1970s. It was a line of Cover Girl nail polish that made your dried nail polish look like it never dried. In this commercial from 1981, Cheryl Tiegs polishes her nails with Cover Girl Nail Slicks (in shade: wet caca) and lets you know that it’ll make your nails look wet all day long. This Nail Slicks poop-looking shade was the perfect one for proud Scat Queens:

And in this commercial from 1985, Christie Brinkley let you know that Cover Girl Nail Slicks slathers your nails in shiny wet-looking opulence:

Tyra Banks and Niki Taylor starred in a 1998 commercial for Cover Girl Nal Slicks 3-in-1 line:

Cover Girl doesn’t make Nail Slicks anymore, so sadly you’ll have to find another brand if your fetish is constantly licking your “wet” nails to see if they’re dry.
