Dlisted: The Podcast, Episode 132 – The Queen VS The Child

As noted in the last episode, this week is sadly Michael K-less, but thankfully Dlisted writer and previous Dlisted: The Podcast guest co-host Mieka kindly agreed to jump in and talk about the 2021 Emmy nominations. Which would explain that title (don’t worry, Queen Elizabeth hasn’t been fighting children). The Queen and child in question would be, well, The Queen from Netflix’s The Crown and Baby Yoda from Disney+’s The Mandalorian, who were nominated for the most Primetime Emmy Awards this week. Allison and Mieka also talk about the other nominees, they go off on a tangent about Police Academy, Mieka proves she can do a 100% convincing British accent, and would Mieka rescue Baby Yoda? Yes, but with hesitation. We also get into a very important Hilaria Baldwin update, which is that she took some time out of her very busy day to school everyone on cultural fluidity in an Instagram post.

Other quick stories include Scarlett Johansson’s rumored pregnancy, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton finally gettin’ hitched, Sir Richard Branson being the first billionaire in space (or space-adjacent), Bennifer possibly hiring a real estate agent, and Netflix giving Paris Hilton a cooking show titled – wait for it – Cooking With Paris. The only thing better than that news was the extra-strength puns we made while coming up with new titles.
