I’ve been following Pudgy on TikTok for a while, but a few readers sent me his way, because they said that he looks like my dog Elvie. I mean, they both had black fur with snowy pepaw faces, but I don’t see it that much since I’m the kind of human who thinks their doggy friend is one of a fucking kind. But like Elvie, Pudgy is a black long-haired chihuahua and unlike Elvie, Pudgy will snap at a trick if you do something he doesn’t like, which includes touching him, looking at him, breathing near him, and existing near him. Pudgy’s human is popular TikToker Malachy James. Malachy tells In The Know that he believes Pudgy is either 11 or 12 years old. Pudgy came into Malachy’s life years ago when his brother’s friend found Pudgy wandering the streets alone after escaping an abusive household. Malachy’s family adopted Pudgy and the two have had a bond ever since. Malachy named him Pudgy after Betty Boop’s dog. Pudgy has always made magical sounds, so Malachy decided to share the charisma, beauty, and talents of Pudgy with TikTok. Pudgy’s TikTok page currently has 9.7 million followers and his Instagram has over 360k followers. Because honestly, many of us see ourselves in a pooch that is sick of your shit!
And like any important pop culture icon, Pudgy has his own catchphrase, which is: OWA OWA!

Despite Pudgy’s brand being “FUCK OFF!”, Malachy says that he’s not just a grouch ball and that he hopes Pudgy is making the world a less shitty place:
“Pudgy is a very sweet and loving dog even though his image may seem hectic to individuals who are just discovering his most popular TikToks,” he said.
“Lots of people [were] in the comments saying stuff like ‘I was sad until I seen this video,’” James told In The Know. “My goal for me and Pudgy is to advocate positive vibes and to show the world it’s totally normal to be unique in your own way … it’s time to change the narrative of the world for the better.”

I’ve seen most of Pudgy’s videos and to me, it seems like he’s cool and sweet with other animals but just can’t really stand many humans. Pudgy really is all of us. OWA OWA!
