Tanya Roberts Has Died At 65 (UPDATE: Apparently, Tanya Roberts Has NOT Died)

UPDATE: Tanya Roberts lives. But this isn’t a dramatic back from the dead situation, it’s a dramatic and bizarre mix-up situation. Despite Tanya’s rep, Mike Pingel, telling everyone that she died, she’s still alive. Mike told TMZ that Cedars-Sinai called him today to let him know that she didn’t die. Even Tanya’s boyfriend (although, some sites are saying her husband), Lance O’Brien, was quoted as saying that he was with her in her final moments in the hospital. And Lance just so happened to be doing an interview with Inside Edition when he got the call (ON A LANDLINE…IN 2021!) that Tanya is still alive and then cried while on camera:

Well, looks like 2021 is on acid and turning out to be the Year of Fuckery.

My original post is after the cut.

Sadly, Farrah Fawcett has been joined in the afterworld by another Angel of Charlie’s. Tanya Roberts, who was also a Bond Girl and was in That ’70s Show, died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles yesterday after she suddenly collapsed in her home on Christmas Eve. Tanya was 65 years old.

TMZ brought us the terrifying and sad news, saying that Tanya took her dogs for a walk on Christmas Eve, and when she got back home, she collapsed. Tanya was taken to the hospital and was in such a bad way that she was put on a ventilator. Tanya never recovered and died yesterday. We don’t know Tanya’s cause of death, and I’m sure many thought that COVID-19 has taken yet another star of our childhoods, but her publicist, Mike Pingel, told CNN that coronavirus is not to blame for her death and she was not sick before she collapsed:

“I’m devastated, I’ve been friends with Tanya for over 20 years. She was full of energy and we always had a wild time together. She was truly an Angel and I will miss her so much.”

Tanya Roberts (born name: Victoria Leigh Blum) was born and raised in the Bronx. As a teenager, she worked as a model in NYC and later took acting classes, which led to her starring in a few off-Broadway plays and movies. And in the 70s, Tanya and her husband, screenwriter Barry Roberts, moved to Hollywood. Tanya starred in a few more movies and TV pilots before she got the job to replace Shelley Hack in Charlie’s Angels’ fifth season. Tanya played Julie Rogers and was an Angel along with Jaclyn Smith and Cheryl Ladd. Julie Rogers ended up being the last Angel because Charlie’s Angels was canceled after its fifth season. Here’s Tanya giving you copper glamour while handling a trick!

After Charlie’s Angels ended in 1981, Tanya guest-starred on TV shows like The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, Burke’s Law, and Silk Stalkings, and starred in movies like The Beastmaster and the flop masterpiece SHEENA!

Tanya also played Bond girl Stacey Sutton, opposite Roger Moore’s Bond, in A View To A Kill. And was also in Night Eyes, Body Slam, and Inner Sanctum. In 1998, Tanya injected one million gallons of glamour into That ’70s Show by playing Donna’s MILF mom Midge Pinciotti in the first three seasons of That ’70s Show and guest-starred on the fifth and sixth seasons. Tanya left the show and retired from acting because her husband got sick. Barry Roberts died in 2006.

Rest in peace, Tanya Roberts.
