Open Post: Hosted By The Skeleton Strip Club

Huffington Post says that a Halloween display in Texas is pissing people off, as usual. But this is a bit more unique, in that the reason for the seasonal anger is: the skeletons are strippers. And apparently seeing a bunch of fake bones in wigs on poles is too sexual for the pearl-clutchers in Texas. Don’t let them watch the trailer for Hustlers – they’ll straight-up die!

Angela Nava is the host of this Halloween debauchery she calls The Candy Shop. She said she wanted to give the people something light-hearted and fun during such a dark time for us all. She explained to the Houston Chronicle:

“This year has really been such a hard year. So with the Halloween decorations, I thought, ‘Let’s have a little bit of fun!’ Every night, let’s add somebody to the Candy Shop and have a little fun.”

The skeleton strippers are named Candy and Vanessa, and I think one of those is an A+ stripper name. But Vanessa? Bambi was the clear choice. At first, it was just a few “haters,” as Angela called them, who were hating on Candy and Vanessa’s front-yard fun. But she said most people were into it:

“Everybody in my section of the neighborhood has been very supportive. I do have a few haters. We have to respectfully agree to disagree. For me, this is just a great creative outlet.”

Then one day she got a letter from the Homeowner’s Association giving her 30-days to take the display down, calling the skeletons “offensively positioned” and “inappropriate.” Angela is my type of broad because she said that after receiving encouragement on Facebook to keep them up, she’s going to do exactly that, and keep the skeleton strip club up past Halloween.

“It’s all fun and games. This brings joy and happiness to people. It’s ok to be silly and fun.”

Stick it to those snooty homeowner’s, Angela! And let’s be real here: the only person who should be offended here is RuPaul. Those skeletons have a more extensive wig collection than her!
