Open Post: Hosted By A Beary Scary Wake Up Call

I’ve been on the receiving end of some pretty rude awakenings in my time — car alarms, earthquakes, a dick pressed up against my ass, a cat slapping me across the face with the claws extended, and the like. But never have I ever been awakened from a pool-side nap by a fucking bear tickling my feet as recently happened to Massachusetts man named Matt Bete, according to People. And I’m talking about an actual bear of the ursine variety because I’m sure it’s happened before to plenty of people at the annual Lazy Bear Week in Guerneville, California.

People reports:

On Saturday, Sept. 12, Matt Bete got a memorable shock when he woke up to a wandering wild bear nudging his foot while lounging at a pool in Greenfield, Massachusetts. The close-call encounter was captured on surveillance footage, and shared by Dawn Bete on Facebook the next day.

“Matt was a little startled yesterday while taking a rest by the pool,” wrote Dawn.

In the clip, as Matt remained asleep and soaking up the sun, the bear snooped around the backyard, taking a few sips from the in-ground pool.

The animal then investigated the area further, leading him to Matt. Sniffing the human’s shoe, the bear soon decided to nudge the man’s right foot, waking him up. As Matt sat up in shock, the bear quickly bolted away, just as spooked as Matt.

Here’s the video from the surveillance camera.

He was so gentle! I was afraid it was going to be like the time that camp counselor woke up to a “crunching sound because his head was inside a bears mouth. This poor little guy was probably just lonely and lost. I hope he finds the right pool by next season.
