Open Post: Hosted By The Friendship Between A Disabled Calf And A Failed Cattle Dog

We deserve to end this weekend on an adorable and decidedly not gross note. And what better way to do that than get into the sweet and unlikely friendship between a disabled calf and the dog who couldn’t even manage to cut it as a cattle herder (like, all you have to do is chase cows…WTF?) This is the quality, Disney-style content we need––and deserve––after a weekend of fireworks, Mary Hart possibly coming out as the sweetheart of the KKK, and oh ya, that pandemic that some people forget is still happening.

According to People Magazine, a loving bond has formed between Cupcake the calf and Bo the cuddly pup, two fuzzy friends who live together on an Oklahoma farm. Cupcake (that name!) was born with busted front legs that make it hard for her to walk around––and if you’re a cow that can’t walk, it’s pretty likely that you’re gonna be…well, you know.

Genia Kay Meyer took over caring for Cupcake after it was determined that her cousin could no longer afford to. She even started a GoFundMe page for Cupcake, who is apparently getting treatment as a result. However, the real help seems to have come in the form of Bo, Genia’s dog, who never leaves Cupcake’s side.

“The very first day we took [Cupcake] home and started her on the bottle, [Bo] just took up with her and started licking up all the milk off her face, and wouldn’t leave her,”

“I don’t know if it was curiosity or what it was, but he just laid by her and stayed with her,” Meyer said, adding that the pair are very “loving” towards one another and spend most of their time playing and cuddling.

Bo didn’t always have this much time on his hands. He was supposed to be a champion herding dog on Genia’s farm but kept fucking it up by getting carsick on the ride out to the fields. So now he and Cupcake keep each other company all day. And, naturally, Genia set up a Facebook page to show everybody how tight they are.

Going through some of the photos, I can’t help but think that Bo is one crafty bitch who TOTALLY knew what he was doing all along. Run around in big circles all day in the Oklahoma sun? Ya, I’m good. Cupcake, can you lick my back? Right in the center?
