The Dick-Drawing AI!
This weekend’s HSOTD theme is officially: DICKS! Yesterday, the highly artistic wall of dicks that Phoebe Waller-Bridge has in her house was HSOTD yesterday, and today I’m honoring the AI that can whip together a work of art (see: above) that looks like what Jack from Titanic would sketch if Phoebe’s wall of dicks said to him, “Draw us like one of your French girls.” In other words, this AI creates stunningly exquisite works of art that could easily be the star piece of any museum!
Mashable says that Reddit user RichardRNN did the lord’s work by (WARNING: a little nerd talk ahead) training a recurrent neural network to doodle nothing but dicks and he called it… wait for it… wait for it… DickRNN. That RNN is basically always doing an A+++ impersonation of me in seventh-grade homoroom (on purpose typo and it stays). Hell, it’s doing an impersonation of me today.
DickRNN’s only function is to draw dicks. So basically, it’s the most useful thing on the internet in the history of the internet. You start drawing a dick and it’ll try to finish up for you.

In 2018 Google open-sourced the Quickdraw data set. “The world’s largest doodling data set”. The set consists of 345 categories and over 50 million drawings. For obvious reasons the data set was missing a few specific categories that people seem to enjoy drawing. This made us at Moniker think about the moral reality big tech companies are imposing on our global community and that most people willingly accept this. Therefore we decided to publish an appendix to the Google Quickdraw data set.
I also believe that “Doodling a penis is a light-hearted symbol for a rebellious act” and also “think our moral compasses should not be in the hands of big tech”.
So in other words, DickRNN sort of plays a game of Pictionary with you and every answer is: dick! Dicktionary!
