A Writer Says Working For “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Sucked

March 10, 2020 / Posted by:

My absolute favorite thing in this miserable world is when someone says “fuck it”, and spills the entire behind-the-scenes gossip about their crappy workplace. So, today, my hero is former Jimmy Kimmel Live! writer, Jack Allison.

Context: In case you haven’t heard, there’s an election going on, and it’s going pretty smoothly. It was just announced that Pete Buttigieg will guest host Jimmy Kimmel’s show. The gay former presidential candidate is now endorsing Joe Biden after dropping out of the Democratic race last week. Jack Allison, a Bernie Sanders supporter, was like, “Huh, a Biden stan hosting the Jimmy Kimmel show? Me no like that”, and proceeded to spill the Kimmel tea in a series of tweets:

Jack went on to tweet that he’s ready to spill it to the press, and something tells me that he won’t be asked to be a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to talk about this. But Jack claims that Jimmy knew he was going to tweet a mini JKL tell-all on Twitter:

Side note: Jack Allison is also the writer who claimed Saturday Night Live head writer Michael Che was obsessed with him and kept a feud going with him for months all because Jack said that SNL isn’t funny.

Ah, Jimmy. A feminist ally (and former host of The Man Show!) who gets that the only way to solve the gender pay gap is by keeping female employees completely in the dark. Why couldn’t you just “keep it between” you and Jimmy, Jack? *cough* BOY’S CLUB *cough* Sigh. So JKL sounds like a great place to work, but are we really surprised? And thankfully, ex-employees who don’t give a fuck like Jack Allison exist to provide screenshots of assholes at large. Make sure you toast to him before rage-chugging your post-work alcohols this evening.
