Shockey, the llama in a tux who crashed a wedding!
Weddings can be torture for those of us who hate wearing pants and shoes, don’t like eating anything while we’re not lying down on the couch, are allergic to making small talk with strangers, and get the internal heaves from witnessing love in action. BUT I’d happily go through all that torture if I got to be in the presence of a llama in a tux! A llama in a tux makes everything better, especially a wedding.
Mendl Weinstock posted the above picture on Reddit of a sharp-as-fuck llama stealing all of the attention at a wedding as Mendi’s sister Riva, the bride, let every shade of not amused cover her face over being shown up on her special day by a llama. And Riva has her brother to thank for it.
Mendi tells CNN that all of this began five years ago when he, his sister, and their friends were on a road trip and she passed the time by telling everyone how her future wedding will go down, even though she wasn’t dating anyone at the time. Mendi let her know that if she made him go to her wedding, he’d bring a llama as his date. In other words, that road trip was probably a hot boxin’ good time.
Cut to October 2019 when Riva let Mendi know that she was engaged, and a quick minute later, he let her know that he came through on his promise from five years ago by booking a llama. Mendi paid $400 for Shockey to show up all fancy like. Riva was not at all amused, because what she thought was a joke five years beforehand turned into reality. But when she learned that all the other guests knew too and they put two inflatable llamas at the bride and groom’s table, she began to love it. Although, she is planning REVENGE:
Riva said she is thankful for the close relationship she has with her brother and that he definitely made her wedding memorable. And while getting back at him at his own wedding might seem a bit too predictable, she mentioned that his college graduation is around the corner. “I’ve definitely started planning my revenge,” Riva said. “He should sleep with one eye open.”
