Open Post: Hosted By A Towel-Swallowing Python

When it comes to deepthroating videos, this one manages to take on a whole new meaning. Chances are you’ve seen this video about fifty times already. But if not, strap in because you are in for a rollercoaster ride of icky, tingly emotions.

Daniel, a Sydney, Australia man, and owner of a female, 18-year-old jungle carpet python named Monty, brought his reptile into the Small Animal Special Hospital after suspecting that she had swallowed an entire beach towel whole (and I thought I had a strong gag reflex!)

Facing certain death, Monty’s owner rushed her in to have the fabric removed from her digestive tract. After putting Monty to sleep with a dose of anesthesia, the doctors went in with an endoscope and found the fuzzy culprit.

“The snake ate the towel of her own accord, and she has never done anything like this before,” a spokesperson for the hospital said. “The owner (Daniel) bought in Monty the day after they suspected she had eaten the entire towel.”

And, of course, somebody filmed the entire medical extraction process. The resulting video is…something else: an equal amount of disgusting, horrifying and satisfying.

Once the entire towel was yanked out of her, Monty was free to be herself again and went back to kicking it at home with Daniel.

“Monty has recovered really well and she is back to eating as per normal.”

As if the insects and arachnids in Australia weren’t terrifying enough, now we’ve got to worry about snakes showing up at the pool, uninvited, and snagging my reserved lawn chair by downing the complimentary towel I’ve placed across it while I run to get my third margarita. Gah!
