Disney+’s “Love, Simon” Series Will Be On Hulu

Variety says that the Love, Simon series planned for Disney’s streaming service is moving to Hulu. It seems Love, Simon is just too much for the innocent viewers of Disney+. And now Disney’s getting backlash over thinking that gay = adult.

The Love, Simon series is being called Love, Victor and is supposed to come out in June for Pride Month. It follows the character of Victor, played by Michael Cimino, who is a new student at the high school from the movie and has his “own journey of self-discovery, facing challenges at home, adjusting to a new city, and struggling with his sexual orientation.”

Sources say that Disney feels many issues explored in the 10-episode series, including boozing and sexing, are not going to fit in with their other “family-friendly” content on Disney+. But Hulu is for heathens! Disney also did this with High Fidelity, starring Zoe Kravitz. It was set up at Disney+ but was then moved to Hulu.

People on Twitter took the change well. Just kidding, they tore at Disney for thinking gays and drinking are too much for “family-friendly” audiences who watch Marvel-themed shows with violence and watch Cinderella getting abused by her family.

Well, I guess if Love, Victor isn’t “family-friendly” enough for Disney+, I can kiss my dreams of a dark Lizzie McGuire revival goodbye. I wanted to see her solve Miranda’s murder in a Lizzie McGuire-meets-Pretty Little Liars series. I wanted to see her help Gordo deal with an addiction to prostitutes, but I guess it’s just going to be the same old “family-friendly” shit.
