Selena Gomez Reportedly Had A Panic Attack Before Her AMAs Performance

Selena Gomez has been back with new music, releasing two songs and music videos from her upcoming album. She performed them both at the American Music Awards last night and it was a swing and a miss. Homegirl was off key and her dance moves were… tragic to say the least. Hailey Bieber was no doubt at home grinning the whole time, I’m sure. But there’s a good reason that Selena tanked so hard last night: she got anxiety and had a panic attack before it.

ONTD says that Selena is getting roasted online for her American Music Awards performance. She performed her drowsy sad song allegedly about her man-child ex boyfriend, Justin Bieber, Lose You To Love Me and her generic dance-pop track about a woman doing her thang, Look At Her Now. It was a mess. She sang the slow one off tune and she danced the fast one like she has no control over the muscles in her whole body. It was like if Britney Spears in 2008 had present eyes and sang live.

The internet had thoughts, of course:

Her fans were quick to point to excuses for the performance; like shaky audio from the mic not being the same live as it was on the broadcast. Some felt like maybe she had an anxiety attack, saying, “Oh she looked nervous, maybe anxiety?” And a source soon hopped on that bandwagon, telling E! News:

“Selena definitely had anxiety and a panic attack before she went out and was putting a lot of pressure on herself.”

Selena herself made no comment on the matter, but she did post to Instagram to thank her fans and say how happy she was to be “back”.

As a good Christian, Hailey Bieber is definitely not loving this and for sure is not bouncing around the house eating the dregs of her still-leftover Halloween candy while cackling wildly. She would never do that.
