Open Post: Hosted By Bill Murray Revealing His Dream Of Working In The Atlanta Airport’s P.F. Chang’s

Bill Murray recently went on Amy Schumer’s podcast and he talked about his dream job: working at P.F. Chang’s. But not just any P.F. Chang’s, the one in the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. So I’m sure this was supposed to be funny, but there’s something sort of insulting about a rich celebrity claiming they want to work at P.F. Chang’s. Like they want to slum it with the working class for fun. And let’s be real, alleged ashtray-throwing Bill wouldn’t last a day in P.F. Chang’s. If he thinks Richard Dreyfuss is bad with conflict, try talking to a customer who is pissed that their chicken egg rolls aren’t hot enough.

According to Huffington Post:

“I did fill out an application at P.F. Chang’s at the Atlanta airport, because I think it’s one of the best places,” Murray said on “3 Girls One Kieth”

The Oscar-nominated actor, 69, explained that he wanted the gig “just to work there.”

“It looks like they are having the best time working at P.F. Chang’s,” he said.

Schumer replied that a fellow staff member on the show was proud that she worked at the first P.F. Chang’s, then moved on to another subject.

Of course P.F. Chang’s loved the free publicity and offered Bill the job. No word if Bill actually filled out the application or he was just trying to get some free Dynamite Shrimp.

A worker for P.F. Chang’s claims that Bill comes in there a fair amount of time, orders Dynamite Shrimp, and takes pictures with fans. Wait…. WHAT?! Last I heard about Bill and phones, he was throwing the phones of fans onto rooftops for taking pictures of him. This Dynamite Shrimp must really be something!

A worker at the airport restaurant who asked not to be identified told HuffPost Wednesday that Murray dined there “all the time.”

“He’s very friendly with the guests, they take pictures,” said the employee, adding that Murray orders the dynamite shrimp.

A P.F. Chang’s spokesperson told HuffPost there is “absolutely no advertising arrangement” between Murray and the restaurant chain, and was checking to confirm whether Murray actually submitted a job application.

If Bill wants to spend his golden years serving food in an airport P.F. Chang’s, then I say go for it, Bill. Although, his boss needs to watch his plum wine intake near the fryer. And at the very least, Lucy Liu, Angelica Huston, and Richard Dreyfuss know what airport restaurant to avoid during a layover.
