Mark Ronson Reveals He’s Sapiosexual, Meaning He’s Attracted To Intelligence More Than Gender

During an interview on Good Morning Britain (via The Sun UK) to promote his new album, Late Night Feelings, Mark Ronson let us know that he’s not really interested in what physical form you take and is more attracted to intelligence. Yes, this is where we are as humanity when a celebrity man has to “come out” as being attracted to smart people.

44-year-old Mark once dated a woman 14-years his senior, so clearly she had tons of wisdom to impart on the younger man. And he was previously married to model/actress type person, Josephine de la Baume. They got divorced last year.

After the French equality minister, Marlene Schiappa, was mocked for identifying as sapiosexual, it was discussed on Good Morning Britain. An author, Nichi Hodgson defended the term, saying:

“The definition means intelligence first then attraction. I date men and women and identify as bisexual, and I realised the thing that linked all people that I have dated has been their brains… We know a certain percentage of the population is sapiosexual. It’s always existed, we just didn’t have a word for it.”

Mark was backstage during this and a light-bulb went off, and he–I’m going to assume–casually mentioned he too felt he was sapiosexual, telling a producer as much. Which is wild, because you think they aren’t going to then immediately use that information when you get on-camera? And they did.

While discussing the heartbreak that led to the new album, host Kate Garraway dropped in this:

“Now we know you are single, and Mark has got very involved in our debate backstage. You are identifying as a man who likes intellect?”

Boom! And it’s off. Mark replied:

“Yeah, I didn’t know that there was a word for it.”

He continued:

“We were all arguing backstage in the dressing room. With a couple of your producers. And yes I feel like I am identifying as sapiosexual.”

Co-host Ben Shephard wanted to get Mark to “come out” as sapiosexual on camera, so he added:

“So you are coming out as sapiosexual. Out and proud on Good Morning Britain.”

Mark has also dated Rashida Jones, singer Samantha Urbani, and most recently, singer Rebecca Schwartz. All are women. None are uggos. So, I’m waiting for Mark to be paparazzi’d holding hands with a busted bag of male ugliness who is a graduate from MIT. But well, if Mark was ever on the list of Kris Jenner’s possible love interests for her daughters (which he probably wasn’t), she now just crossed him off.
