Keke Palmer Now Knows Who Dick Cheney Is

26-year-old Keke Palmer became a meme recently after a Vanity Fair video of her doing their Lie-Detector Test went viral. When shown a picture of former Vice-President Dick Cheney,Keke had no clue who he was. “Sorry to this man” was born! Well don’t worry, Keke isn’t some ignorant self-obsessed millennial: she knows who Dick Cheney is now.

In case you haven’t seen the moment yet, which is impossible since everyone meme’d the hell out of it, Keke was asked if her character from the Nickelodeon show True Jackson, VP would make a better VP than Dick Cheney. Keke was shown a picture of him, to which she said, “I hate to say it, I hope I don’t sound ridiculous, I don’t know who this man is … Sorry to this man.

Page Six says that Keke has now educated herself on all of the people who have once inhabited the American high-office and now knows who Dick Cheney is. While at SHE Media’s #Blogher19 Creators Summit Keke told the audience that after the Vanity Fair video, she has since been educated on the former VP:

“It was so crazy, my mom was like, ‘You didn’t know who Dick Cheney is?’ I said, ‘We don’t even talk about Dick Cheney!’ and then she tried to tell me what he was about, and I said, ‘I see why we don’t talk about him!’

Keke said she knew she’d got got once that picture of Cheney was presented to her, and that it was supposed to be a trick question with an easily identifiable person:

“Geez Louise! I truly did not know who the man was. God bless him though.”

Keke actually talked about her Dick Cheney debacle on Watch What Happens Live! as well:

Oh to become a meme–it must be fun, I mean–when it’s for something good, at least. Sometimes you aren’t being celebrated by the meme so much as completely derided and torn apart. Like remember those sorority girls? Not as fun a meme to be a part of.
