Bette Midler Took Some Heat For Calling Melania Trump “FLOTITS”

Once again, Bette Midler said something on Twitter that is not amusing to some people. The Divine Miss M is no fan of Donald Trump, and that’s a sentiment that extends to his wife Melania. On Wednesday, Bette trolled the First Lady of the United States on Twitter and it didn’t go over well with some.

This all started after Bette grabbed an old picture from Melania’s modeling days and cracked a joke about the FLOTUS. Except Bette, clearly drawing inspiration from her source material, got clever and changed Melania’s title to FLOTITS.

I’ll be honest, I’m proud that Bette didn’t play it safe with a cockpit joke. But a lot of people didn’t appreciate Bette’s attempt at humor, whether it be digging up an old picture of Melania looking like a porn parody of Robocop (Ro-HO-Double D Cups) or changing her title to FLOTITS. Ironically, Trump has probably suggested that title for at least one female member of his family.

According to The Huffington Post, a bunch of Twitter users came after Bette and accused her of throwing a low blow at the First Lady. Some were right-leaning types who were horrified that Bette would sully the name of Melania like that. Others were upset that Bette would attack another woman for her looks.

Bette hasn’t responded nor has she taken the tweet down. So Bette probably doesn’t care about the negative response she’s received thus far. Or maybe she’s too busy trying to prove she’s an equal opportunity hater by dubbing Melania’s voice over a clip of Georgette from Oliver & Company. If Melania says anything, it will probably just be something meaningless combined with her favorite hashtag, #BeBest. Or maybe she’ll surprise us all with a new one. “Hello everybody, please do Melania a favor and #BeatBette with your handbag if you see her on the street.
