Mischa Barton Is Getting Sued By U-Haul

Back in March we told you about how one-time American Sweetheart (like literally one time for three years between 2003 and 2006) Mischa Barton was in trouble with the law. Not for anything criminal, she was getting chased by the civil courts.

Mischa crashed a rented U-Haul into the side of a West Hollywood apartment complex and the homeowners association sued her for $27,000 in damages. Well, it seems like they aren’t the only ones trying to get a pay out from Mischa; U-Haul wants some money too.

The Blast is reporting that U-Haul is hauling Mischa to court (see what I did there) over the crash. Here’s the scenario: after that crash into the apartment complex, Mischa and her boyfriend, Adam Spaw, ditched the truck and all of the shit they had inside of it. They denied they crashed the U-Haul into the building despite clear video evidence, and then they abandoned the truck with all of their belongings still inside of it. …How… what… what did you think the outcome would be? Did they think magical truck fairies would come overnight, repair the damages to the truck and building and then kindly unpack all of their shit? I’m highly confused by this choice.

Per the rental agreement, U-Haul “took possession” of everything in the truck and put them away in storage. Mischa then tried to claim her items that she abandonedin the truck that she crashed.

U-Haul is now threatening to sell a bunch of Mischa Memorabilia unless she pays up. According to them, Mischa and Adam owe them for the rental and storage of their stuff totalling a whopping: $5,827.65.

So here’s the thing, U-Haul, girl: you might make way more money selling her stuff than suing her. If I were you, I would just skip the legal proceedings all together and go straight to Storage Wars.
