Conor McGregor Has Been Charged With Assault After Fighting A Tour Bus

According to TMZ, UFC fighter Conon McGregor is in trouble with the NYPD for using his fists to go after a bus. TMZ posted a video from Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY of Conor and various UFC fighters and entourage members after a news conference for UFC 223. The video shows Conor throwing things at a nearby tour bus, including a security gate and a moving dolly. The driver’s side window was smashed, and many on board the bus believe it was Conor, and a member of his entourage, who did it.

Here’s the video:

Multiple people were injured in the attack, including UFC fighter Michael Chiesa, who was reportedly hospitalized with lacerations to his face.

It wasn’t known what caused the fight, although TMZ seems to think it probably had something to do with one UFC fighter, Khabib Nurmagomedov, getting into it with Conor’s training partner Artem Lobov on Tuesday at their hotel in NYC. Or maybe – and hear me out – the reason was because: they’re a bunch of professional brawlers with an abundance of testosterone who like to fight? I don’t know, just a thought.

Conor eventually turned himself into police, and was charged with 3 counts of misdemeanor assault and one count of felony criminal mischief. Sources tell TMZ that one of the assault charges is for the injuries to Michael Chiesa’s face, and another one is for allegedly punching someone in the face multiple times. The criminal mischief charge is for the $8000 worth of damage done to the bus. This is what his mugshot looks like:

It’s important to remember that this all happened after a media day for UFC’s next big event. Hmmmm….I think I smell roids mixed with a publicity stunt. But UFC President Dana White tells TMZ that it’s not a stunt. When asked if Conor would be fired from UFC, Dana responded that this situation is “bigger” than UFC firing him. Dana also believes it was caused by the confrontation that happened Tuesday at the hotel. What the hell happened at the hotel?! I mean, I’ve seen people get into fights over croissants at the continental breakfast bar, but the worst that happened was a small box of Froot Loops intentionally getting knocked off a tray.
